San Sebastian saves in 2009 the equivalent to the consumption of 19 235 inhabitants with water leak detection.
San Sebastian City Council has saved in 2009 through the detection of leaks and uncontrolled consumption a total of 1,404,155 meters cubic of water, equivalent to the consumption of 19 235 inhabitants, as reported this Wednesday the Consistory Donostia.
This data has been possible thanks to the work of sectorization of the distribution network of drinking water in San Sebastian, which ended in 2007 at a, sto credits, cost of 3.8 million euros, financed by 80 percent cohesion funds of the Union Europe.
In 2008 began the exploitation of the system, which enable a central coordination and software where the data come from different sectors to proceed subsequently to the issuance of reports.
